It is always important to be prepared before doing any kind of training.

Be it physical, mental or spiritual - you will want to ensure you have the tools you require before you begin.

Possible items of interest

- Water Bottle

- Loose clothing or training uniform

- Note pad & Pen or Ipad/phone to take notes

- Yoga Block, Soup Can or a Chair to Aid in Balance

- Music!

Study & Research

Also remember to study through the forms before you begin so that you are able to perform with little pause or hesitation. Using an Ipad or your phone will help you to flip through these instructions easily.

If this is your first time, read, observe and test them out before stringing them together. Take it slow and if you have any local Yoga Instructors in your home town do not be afraid to approach them with questions and possible Class Sign Up's to better understand the poses and yoga itself.

Meditation

Meditation helps to center your mind and focus your spirit. It prepares you for the task ahead and allow's you to put forward your full commitment to your training.

Yoga is not only a physical training practice but also a spiritual opening by the fluid motion and artistic expression of one's body moving through the force and your environment, awakening the senses and freshening the mind. This fall's under the "Moving Meditation" Practices of Just Jedi.

It is recommended that all students start's out their routine first with a 3 minute or more standing meditation. And to also end their routine with the same meditation.

During the course of your training, practicing the sets and postures of Force Salutations - You will be given Mediation prompts next to the posture images. These prompts are meant to act as suggested topics to reflect on and how the subject might relate to you in your past, present and future. Each prompt follows a theme that the "Set" Represents.

Example

Meditation Prompt "Ordinary" is one that might confuse the student because being Ordinary

or living in an ordinary lifestyle

is unappealing to one seeking

a higher purpose.

It is important to remind them that even the Ordinary parts of our lives have a purpose, and we should reflect upon them as we move from one posture to the next which will build off of the other.

How Much Time Between each Pose?

Take what time you need. We recommend at least 1 minuets between each pose....you, of course, are free to do more...or less. The quicker paced stylized yoga's are great for elevating your heart rate and burning calories while the slow and deep stretched rates are best for reaching inwardly and methodically. It all depends on your goal's and comfort levels.

Just Jedi as always works hard to accommodate!

The Tree's Trunk

The Trunk of Force Salutations, Just like the Tree of Just Jedi; is our beginning and end.

It is where we start out our routine and it is how we end it.

We use this time to loosen ourselves up and get further into the mindset of training.

We perform this directly after our beginning three minuet (or more) standing meditation

Remember!!

Yoga is about core balance and felxibility. Ensure your center of balance is stable in this and all positions. If you need to separate your feet a little to accomplish this...go ahead and make the adjustments you need to be comfortable and secure.

Also make sure you have good posture! Streighten your spine, raise your chin up confidently, and roll your shoulders back so that your spine isn't curving or slumping forward. This will not only encourage a healthy posture, but allow you the ability to breath deeply, clearly and fully.

The Tree's Branches

This is the Second Set of the Force Salutations.

It is advised that the Student smoothly transitions into this set after completing "The Tree's Trunk"

The Tree's Root's

This is the Third Set of the Force Salutations.

It is advised that the Student smoothly transitions into this set after completing "The Tree's Branches"

The Root's are considered a more 'Advanced Set' due to it's on the ground, hands and knee's practice.

It is advised to have a Yoga Mat or a non slip carpeted area on hand to cushion your knee's and elbows

When you are ready.

Show it by looking up from your meditations and placing your arms and hands to your sides.

In traditional yoga, this is known as the

"Mountain Pose."
