Set Your Goals
No matter what rank you hold. Be you a beginner just starting out or a Master long standing in your line of work. Setting goals is an effective means of reaching new limits, getting things done, and advancing your knowledge and wisdom.
Goals are a set of achievements you wish to reach within a certain period of time. Losing weight, running that extra mile, passing a test, getting your dagree, painting your room, finishing a story, going on vacation! These are all great and common goals that many work towards and there are thousands more. What is your's?
* There are two kinds of goals generally speaking. There are short term goals, like finishing your exam. And your long term goals, finding a well paying carrier.
* Set realistic goals. Be it for short term or long term. It is mentally and spiritually important that we set goals that are realistic and achievable. After all, if you set an unrealistic goal and spend your entire life trying to reach it...You set yourself up for failure, which can lead into depression or even obsession. These negative outcomes are unhealthy to you and those around you. Be kind to yourself. Be realistic.
* Remember that goals are not set in solid stone. Over time they may adapt, change, grow or become forgotten. Life is change, and it may just open the doors up for even greater goals.
* Don't become discouraged. Remember that Motivation and determination to reach your goals is key. Always remain positive!
* And lastly. Reward yourself when you reach your goals! Seriously! Go get yourself some ice cream or take someone with you to a new movie. Rewards are great spices to your spirit and can motivate you to make new goals.
