One opponent, pushed into a corner, will become as three opponents. -- Jedi Coordithiel's epitaph
A Jedi master out for a walk with his pupils pointed out a hooked toothed saurot chasing a womprat. "According to an ancient story, the womprat will get away from the saurot." the master said.
"Not so," replied a pupil, "For the saurot is faster."
"Mayhap," the master returned, "But the womprat will elude him."
"Why are you so certain of this?" asked the pupil?
"Because the saurot is running for his dinner and the womprat is running for his life," answered the master
Never allow your opponent to believe that they are in a no-win situation or they will surely find enough will to live than you might find will to win. Always let your opponent think there is an out.
Many neophyte Jedi have been struck down when telling another that they are a Jedi and that they cannot be defeated. There is few other choices at this point but for an opponent to unholster their blaster and see if the Jedi can back their words up with actions. Remain humble but strong in all confrontations, no good can come from goading your opponent, and they may in their desperation rise to defeat you.
