Internal Training:
Before you can use the Force, and its many techniques, you must FEEL it. You don't learn swordplay (or any other weapon) by going straight into the techniques. You must first feel the balance of the weapon, its strengths AND its weaknesses. Feel the contours of its shape, and its weight or lack of it. Only then can you start to wield it properly.
Lesson 1:
"Calm Mind, Relaxed Body"
This is THE essential lesson in any training that contains Light Side leanings. From this lesson ALL other lessons come. Master this lesson, and you master yourself, those around you, and you take your first step to mastering the Force.
Step 1: Relax. Stay Still. Whether you stand or sit or lie down, it doesn't matter, but staying still is. In you and around you flows the Force. Movement disrupts its natural flow, therefore not moving puts you in line with the NATURAL Force.
Step 2: Breathe in. As you breathe in over EIGHT seconds, feel not only the air going into your lungs, but the Force entering you as well. Your internal Force Well is never completely full until you recharge it with external Force. This is what you are doing with each breath you take. Feel the oxygen going round your blood, feel yourself loosen up, ALLOW yourself to loosen up.
Step 3: Breathe out. Breathe out over TEN seconds. As you do, concentrate on letting out all your emotions with that breath. All your hate, all your anger, all your love, all your warmth. Cold, hard logic is what you are looking for. While breathing in charges your Force Well, breathing out clears your mind and body of impurities.
Step 4: Continue Steps 2 and 3 until you feel a "glow" inside of you. This signifies that your Force Well is charged. You are now ready to start sensing the Force, and your surroundings.
Step 5: The Force connects all things, so everything in your surroundings is connected to you, and can be sensed by you. Start with something close. Feel its shape, its contours, its weight. Look not only with your eyes, but with your mind. See where that object fits in with its surroundings. As you grow more confident, increase the range of what you are sensing. When you find you can't sense any further, you have established your "Sphere of Influence/Responsibility". In time, this will increase, until you can sense vast areas.
Your "Sphere of Influence" may be small, it may be large, but it doesn't MATTER now. As said earlier, you WILL progress, and it WILL increase. Often having the smallest Sphere to start with is good, because you are not overwhelmed by what you can sense. As you progress it comes naturally, instead of being overwhelmed to start with, and seeing any progression as hurtful.
