If we recall, in our chapter “Examine Your Habit.” We learned that in order to develop a habit, both good or bad, we must first consciously choose to participate in an act and do it enough to pass that act from the Conscious mind to the Subconscious mind.
Training is simply the act of developing habits.
A habit of maintaining a training schedule. A habit of preparing each subject you chose to train in. But also...a Habit of executing the training efficiently and safely.
Let’s say you chose to add Just Jedi’s “Force Salutation” Yoga form taught by Kata Kitty into your training routine. But you have never done it before until now!
Instead of awkwardly staring at your phone or laptop as you struggle to perform each pose… Consider spending a day or so to simply look at each pose and commit the “Basic Idea” to memory. Spend time researching each of the poses via google, youtube or even your local library. This will not only help you to execute each pose with more confidence, but it will overall be safer than attempting to “Wing It” for the first time.
Remember, the “Basics” are our starting foundations. They are the bare minimum concepts that should never fail you if you are able to commit it to memory and form positive habits.
Journal Entry: Choose one of your training routines and take a moment to break it down into basic concepts. Record your work and your step by step plan to execute your starting practice.
